ACS VIRTUAL GALLERY | September 2023 | Kaur & Davis

DUAL EXHIBITION
with
JASVIR KAUR |'Urban Forest'
and
FABIA ROSE DAVIS | 'Animal Kingdom

September 2 - 28 | 1-3pm

JASVIR KAUR |  ARTIST STATEMENT | I am a student who is not sure what subjects to major with, that is why I keep exploring new things to learn all the time.

Painting abstract makes me think that what I create is something that is unique in its own way as I get to do what ever I want, without any guidelines. There is no limit other than my own visualization.

I also work with clay, pottery fascinates me. It is again a lovely way of expression.  This exhibition is of my Acrylics on canvas.

I see nature’s influence everywhere. We are all part of nature. Everything comes from Nature and belongs to Nature. We cannot separate. Shapes try to define distinction to some extent.

FABIA ROSE DAVIS | ARTIST STATEMENT | Originally from Jamaica, Fabia immigrated to Canada in 1969.  Her career was in the healthcare field, as a successful Registered Nurse.  Her husband of over 40 years contracted a rare disease and as a result Fabia retired to take care of him.  After he succumbed to the disease, she decided to venture into painting, a hobby that she always had a liking to.  She joined the Art Guild of Scarborough Ontario, and had four of her very first paintings juried successfully.  This accomplishment gave her the confidence to continue, and her paintings are now enjoyed internationally.

Painting provides her with calmness and a joy of promoting her creative side.  Her style and subject matter has changed over the years.  Currently she concentrates on animal subjects as well as old western scenes.  Often Fabia gets requests from the public to paint a favorite family pet.

Fabia spends her summers in British Columbia, and her winters in Arizona.  During both these periods she produces numerous paintings.
