Writing a successful grant application can be a challenge – both for long-time applicants, as well as newcomers to the process. And an increasingly competitive grant environment can make success even tougher to achieve.
The BC Alliance offers a suite of workshops to help your grant stand out from the crowd. Mary Ann Anderson, of Little Dog CreativeConsulting, offers Grant Writing 101, a foundational workshop, followed by a pair of two-session clinics: Grant Writing for Individuals and Grant Writing for Organizations. Take them separately, or register for Grant Writing 101 and one of the clinics for a discounted rate. See below for more information.
GRANT WRITING 101
WHEN: Wednesday, October 3, 2018; 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
WHERE: 100-938 Howe St., Vancouver
COST: $45.00 BC Alliance members | $85.00 non-members | $25.00 livestream
For all those who need guidance on successful grant writing, this is the workshop for you. Facilitator Mary Ann Anderson (Little Dog Creative Consulting) will translate what the funder really means in their guidelines language, identify ‘red flag’ language to avoid, and go through best practices to make your application speak directly to what each funder is looking for. The workshop will provide a clear road-map to creating a successful application – for both first-timers and long-time grant recipients.
GRANT WRITING FOR INDIVIDUALS
WHEN: Wednesday, October 10, 2018; 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and Thursday, October 18, 2018; 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
WHERE: 100-938 Howe St., Vancouver
COST: $90.00 BC Alliance members | $170.00 non-members
This two-session workshop provides participants hands-on learning via a collective writing clinic. Take this opportunity to tap the “hive mind” of your colleagues and Little Dog Creative Consulting: Bring your toughest grant question, and we’ll tackle it together! This is a great opportunity to gain crucial practical experience in constructing clear and effective narrative and demystifying budget forms. Due to the participatory nature of this session, we regret that we are unable to offer remote access via livestream.
This workshop is tailored to individuals who are seeking an applied approach to enhancing their grant writing practice. Consider taking it in conjunction with “Grant Writing 101” (see above) at a discounted rate! See below for more information.
