SURREY ART GALLERY | Join us on October 14 from 11am-3pm for Family Art Party!
Inspired by the Gallery’s exhibits, “Swapnaa Tamhane: No Surface is Neutral,” “all roses sleep (inviolate light),” and “Kampala to Canada,” we invite you to spend a fun-filled afternoon of artmaking and musical performances by Mohamed Assani, Amarjeet Singh, and Curtis Andrews, centred on the theme of ‘Mapping Stories, Home and Away.’
During this event, you can get hands-on with collaborative block printing, mixed-media sculpting, and engaging looking games, all designed to lead young viewers through the Gallery.
Throughout the afternoon, we’ll celebrate the culture and classical music of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, featuring performances on the sitar, tabla, and percussion by Mohamed Assani, Amarjeet Singh, and Curtis Andrews in Tamhane’s artwork, ‘Mobile Palace,’ a place of cultural celebration and knowledge sharing.
Everyone is welcome at this free drop-in event. Children must be with an adult.
Join us for a day of creativity, connection, and culture!
We look forward to seeing you on October 14!
