'ART IS LOVE'
A Duo exhibit with SUSSANNE HOIBERG
EXHIBITION
February 2-27, 2026
RECEPTION | Sunday, February 7th | 1-3pm

ARTIST STATEMENT | Sacred geometry, butterflies and symbolism relating to Norse mythology are her passion and inspiration.

Art is the language that has given her the courage to express herself with confidence. Sussanne’s favourite mediums are acrylic ink, watercolour and mixed media. She expresses herself intuitively by sensing vibration, thoughts and feelings. These spiritual messages, mystical shapes and symbols can be seen in many of her artworks.

Sussanne began her career as a graphic designer & illustrator and then worked in the film industry creating artistic scenery on the sets. Her true passion of painting inspired her to exhibit in several juried art competitions in Vancouver & the Fraser Valley, BC Canada winning praise and awards  from 2013-2019. Sussanne is the founder of Vendel Festival Art shows which promotes local artists in her area since 2014. Her artworks are collected internationally.

Sussanne enjoyed her live & work art studio at the ARC, an artist resource centre residence, in Vancouver from February 2020 to March 2023. She hosted open art studio during the East Van Cultural Crawl.

Sussanne is the facilitator of art shows for the Scandinavian Cultural Society since Nov/2023. The next Nordic Art Show will be in held 2027.

'NATURE'S MELODY'
A Duo exhibit with MAREIJA ESKELINEN
EXHIBITION
February 2-27, 2026
RECEPTION | Sunday, February 7th | 1-3pm

ARTIST STATEMENT | The beauty of nature is tremendous, magnificent and transient - ever changing as the earth turns, the light shifts and the seasons ebb and flow.  I seek to convey the essence and emotional resonance of a scene - one moment when the world feels exceptionally brilliant: a play of sunlight on water, the feeling of standing among old-growth trees or gazing across a mist-covered inlet.

Painting, for me, is a quiet meditative process that takes me out of the stress and hubbub of daily life to a tranquil inner peace where nothing exists but paint on a canvas. My paintings reflect serene moments much like the solace they inspire within myself.
