and
THERESA MOLESKI | 'The Colour of Life'

Exhibition | May 4-30, 2024

Reception | May 11 | 1-3pm

OLGA (So Exquisite Art) | ARTIST STATEMENT | My inspiration stems from the immersive experiences I have in nature. Witnessing the magnificent transformation of trees, as their lush green leaves morph into vibrant orange and red hues during the fall, fills me with awe. The sight of lakes enveloped in the morning mist or adorned with shimmering reflections under the radiant sun, while people frolic on the beaches, fuels my creative spirit. The tranquility of a city at night, when rainfall encourages most to seek shelter but a few brave souls hurry along the streets under their umbrellas, ignites a sense of wonder within me. Horses drinking from watering holes or gracefully galloping through water with cascading splashes evoke a dynamic energy that I endeavour to convey.

In my artistic process, brushes and palette knives rarely find their place. Instead, I opt for a more intimate approach, using gloved fingers to apply the oil paints. This tactile connection not only brings me closer to the painting during its creation but also imbues the artwork with a distinct mood. The unconventional and flowing shapes that emerge reflect a sense of tranquility and joy, offering viewers a respite from the demands of everyday life.
