COMPETITION STATEMENT | The Arts Council of Surrey (ACS), in partnership with the Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Society (FVHRS), the Langley Arts Council (LAC) and Arts New West (ANW), presents the juried exhibition Paint the Train.  Artists were invited to submit entries that represented their artistic view of the impact of railways (electric, steam, diesel) in the region since 1886.  We continue to be inspired by the imagination of our artists and know that you will be as well!  In-Person and Online Gallery visitors can vote for their favourite piece for our People’s Choice Award.

Judging this year’s entries were renowned artists Jarnail Singh, Jim Adams, and Suvi Bains.  Artwork will be on display in the ACS Gallery located in the Newton Cultural Centre (13530 72 Ave, Surrey BC) and online at artscouncilofsurrey.ca from November 2nd – 28th.  Winning pieces will be on display at the Township of Langley Civic Centre (20338 65th Ave, Langley BC) from December 13, 2023 – January 8, 2024.  They will then move to The Gallery at Queen’s Park (enter by 1st Street and 3rd Avenue, New Westminster) and be on display from January 11 – 28, 2024.
